Judo este o artă marțială modernă, luptă și sport olimpic creat în Japonia în 1882 de Jigoro Kano. Trăsătura sa cea mai proeminentă este elementul său competitiv, în care obiectivul este fie să arunci, fie să elimini un adversar la pământ, să imobilizezi sau să supui altfel un adversar cu un ac, sau să forțezi un adversar să se supună cu un blocaj comun sau un șuier. Grevele și loviturile de mâini și picioare, precum și apărarea armelor fac parte din judo, dar numai în forme pre-aranjate și nu sunt permise în competiția judo sau în practica gratuită. Un practicant judo este numit judoka. Filozofia și pedagogia ulterioară dezvoltată pentru judo a devenit modelul altor arte marțiale moderne japoneze care au evoluat din koryū. Răspândirea la scară mondială a judo-ului a dus la dezvoltarea unui număr de recuzite precum Sambo și jiu-jitsu brazilian.

When I was ten years old, my dad and brother did judo, so I went along because I felt like I was missing out. They eventually gave up, and I continued, then moved into Tae Kwon Do, kickboxing and various other martial arts. I did lots of different things, but mostly things like Wushu, Jeet Kune Do, Krav Maga and stuff like that.
I was doing judo before anybody knew it existed in this country.
I discovered martial arts, first judo and then karate, and I became quite good at it, because I had something to prove. And more than anything, I needed to feel safe.
The Olympics is a once-in-a-lifetime thing. I was lucky enough to go twice, but most people only get one chance. And in judo you can train your whole life and it'll come down to a split second: You can lose everything or win anything.
The style I have in judo is very unique... One big advantage a judo player has is they have very good posture and - like, wrestlers, they show when they're about to do a take-down... which judo players don't, and so I kind of incorporate the boxing style with a judo grip and finishing that way.
Indeed, the whole point of the man bun, I have surmised, is to assert a high proficiency at yoga. There are no yoga-achievement badges, no coloured belts like judo, so the male yoga expert needs some other kind of visible symbol.
I will remain active in judo.
Doing nothing would stress me out. So I am still pretty much active practicing judo with my friends, who are former judo athletes, to maintain our fitness as well as the friendships among us. In my spare time, I usually go jogging around the Gelora Bung Karno stadium or head to the gym.
I was a judo athlete, while taking modeling as my side job, before I eventually quit my professional sports career over a knee injury.
