Melilotus
Melilotul, cunoscut sub numele de Melilot sau Trifoi dulce, este un gen din familia Fabaceae. Membrii sunt cunoscuți ca plante comune de pășuni și ca buruieni de teren cultivat. Inițial din Europa și Asia, este acum găsit în întreaga lume. Acest legum este numit în mod obișnuit pentru mirosul său dulce, care se datorează conținutului său ridicat de agent de parfum cumarină. Această substanță chimică este responsabilă pentru mirosul dulce al fânului și este amar la gust, probabil produsă de plante pentru a descuraja ingerarea de către animale.
