Platitudine
O platitudine este o afirmație tribună, lipsită de sens sau prozaică, în general îndreptată spre calmarea neliniștii sociale, emoționale sau cognitive. Cuvântul derivă din plat, cuvântul francez pentru "plat". Platitudinile sunt orientate spre prezentarea unei înțelepciuni superficiale, unificatoare asupra unui subiect dificil. Cu toate acestea, ele sunt prea excesive și generale pentru a fi ceva mai mult decât declarații nedirecționate, cu o contribuție semnificativă, în ultimă instanță, la o soluție. Exemple ar putea fi declarații precum "Întâlniți în mijloc", "Toată lumea are dreptul la o opinie", "Totul se întâmplă cu un motiv", "Este ceea ce este", "Fă ce poți", " misterioase moduri "și" Nimeni nu este perfect ". Platitudinile sunt, în general, o formă de clișeu de terminare a gândirii.
