Polipul în zoologie este una din cele două forme găsite în sondajul Cnidaria, cealaltă fiind medusa. Polipii sunt de formă aproximativ cilindrică și alungiți pe axa corpului în formă de vază. În polipii solitari, capătul aboral este atașat la substrat prin intermediul unui dispozitiv de reținere tip disc, numit disc pedal, în timp ce în colonii de polipi este conectat la alte polipi, direct sau indirect. Capătul orală conține gura și este înconjurat de o cruce de tentacule.
