Un compresor de aer este un compresor de aer care mărește presiunea sau densitatea aerului furnizat unui motor cu combustie internă. Aceasta conferă fiecărui ciclu de admisie a motorului mai mult oxigen, lăsându-l să ardă mai mult combustibil și să facă mai multă muncă, sporind astfel puterea.
