Threadless este o comunitate online de artiști și un site de e-commerce cu sediul în Chicago, Illinois. În 2000, co-fondatorii Jake Nickell și Jacob DeHart au început compania cu 1.000 de dolari din banii proprii. Modelele fără fir sunt create și alese de o comunitate online. În fiecare săptămână, aproximativ 1000 de modele sunt trimise online și sunt supuse votului public. După șapte zile, personalul examinează desenele de top. Pe baza scorului mediu și a feedback-ului comunității, aproximativ 10 modele sunt selectate în fiecare săptămână, tipărite pe articole de îmbrăcăminte și alte produse și vândute în întreaga lume prin magazinul online și la magazinul lor de vânzare cu amănuntul din Chicago.
