O traseu este un drum sau un traseu pe malul unui râu, al unui canal sau al unei alte căi navigabile interioare. Scopul unui traseu este de a permite unui vehicul terestru, animalelor de povară sau unei echipe de tractoare umane să tragă o barcă, adesea o barjă. Acest mod de transport a fost obișnuit în cazul în care navigația a fost impracticabilă din cauza tunelurilor și podurilor, a vânturilor nefavorabile sau a îngustării canalului. După Revoluția Industrială, remorcarea a devenit depășită atunci când motoarele au fost montate pe bărci și când transportul feroviar a înlocuit metoda lentă de remorcare.
