Netranslatabilitatea este o proprietate a unui text sau a oricărei declarații, într-o singură limbă, pentru care nici un text sau o expresie echivalentă nu poate fi găsit în altă limbă atunci când este tradus. Termenii nu sunt, totuși, exclusiv translatabili și nici exclusiv netranslați; mai degrabă, gradul de dificultate al traducerii depinde de natura lor, precum și de cunoștințele traducătorului despre limbile în cauză. Destul de des, un text sau o declarație care este considerată a fi "netranslatabilă" este de fapt o lacună sau un decalaj lexical.
