Windburn este o condiție prin care o arsură la soare obținută în condiții reci sau înnorate este atribuită incorect efectelor vântului mai degrabă decât soarelui. Principalul motiv pentru aceasta este că, în condiții reci sau înnorate, mulți oameni nu sunt conștienți de faptul că sunt încă vulnerabili la efectele arzătoare ale radiațiilor ultraviolete ale soarelui, deci nu iau măsuri preventive de protecție împotriva soarelui.
