O bobină electromagnetică este un conductor electric, cum ar fi un fir în formă de bobină, spirală sau helix. Dimpotrivă, un flux magnetic extern în schimbare induce o tensiune într-un conductor, cum ar fi un fir, datorită legii lui Faraday de inducție.
