Încheietura
În anatomia umană, încheietura este definită în mod diferit ca 1) carpus sau oase carpatice, complexul de opt oase care formează segmentul scheletului proximal al mâinii; (2) articulația încheieturii mâinii sau radiocarpal, îmbinarea dintre rază și carpus; și (3) regiunea anatomică care înconjoară carpusul, inclusiv părțile distal ale oaselor antebrațului și părțile proximale ale metacarpului sau ale celor cinci oase metacarpiale și seria de articulații dintre aceste oase, denumite astfel articulații ale încheieturii mâinii. Această regiune include, de asemenea, tunelul carpian, cutia anatomică de mucoasă, retinaculul flexor și retinacul extensor. Ca o consecință a acestor definiții diferite, fracturile la nivelul oaselor carpatice sunt denumite fracturi carpatice, în timp ce fracturile, cum ar fi fractura radială distală, sunt considerate fracturi la încheietura mâinii.
