Un laptop (în Brazilia, numit și un notebook) sau un computer portabil (în Portugalia, în mod obișnuit abreviat la un laptop) este un calculator portabil și ușor proiectat pentru a fi transportat și utilizat cu ușurință în diferite locuri. În general, un computer portabil conține un afișaj cu cristale lichide (LCD), tastatură, mouse (de obicei un touchpad, zonă cu degetul), unitate hard disk, conectivitate prin LAN sau fax / modem, recordere CD / DVD .
