Ampirik kanıt, gözlem veya deney yoluyla elde edilen bir bilgi kaynağıdır. Terim, deneyim için Yunanca kelime, Εμπειρία geliyor. Ampirik kanıt, ampirik bir iddianın doğruluğuna veya yanlışlığına ilişkin bir inancı haklı kılan bir bilgidir. Deneyci görüşte, kimisi yalnızca deneysel kanıtlara dayalı gerçek bir inanca sahip olduğunda bilgi sahibi olduğunu iddia edebilir. Bu, mantıksal görüşün aksine, neden ya da düşüncenin tek başına bazı önermelerin gerçeği ya da yanlışlığı için kanıt olduğu düşünülmektedir. Duyular ampirik kanıtın birincil kaynağıdır. Bellek gibi diğer kanıt kaynakları ve başkalarının ifadeleri nihayetinde bazı duyu deneyimlerini geride bıraksa da, bunlar ikincil veya dolaylı olarak değerlendirilir.
