Jargon
Jargon, teknik terminoloji veya sanat terimi, "özel bir etkinlik veya grubun teknik terminolojisi veya karakteristik deyimi" dir. Endüstri terimi, belirli bir endüstri içinde belirli bir anlam taşıyan teknik terminolojinin bir türüdür. Felsefe Étienne Bonnot de Condillac, 1782'de "her bilimin özel bir dili gerektirdiğini" gözlemledi; çünkü her bilim kendi fikrine sahiptir. Enlightenment'ın rasyonalist bir üyesi olarak, "Bu dili bestelemekle başlamalıyız, ancak insanlar konuşmaya ve yazmaya başlamış görünüyor ve dil oluşturulacak kalıyor gibi görünüyor" diye devam etti. Her alanda, terimler, ortak kullanımdaki terimlerle aynı olmayabilecek bir veya daha fazla spesifik anlamlara sahiptir.
