Dividende
Eine Dividende ist eine von einer Gesellschaft an ihre Aktionäre gezahlte Zahlung, in der Regel als Gewinnverteilung. Wenn ein Unternehmen einen Gewinn oder Überschuss verdient, kann er es entweder wieder in das Geschäft investieren, oder es kann es an die Aktionäre verteilen. Eine Gesellschaft kann einen Teil ihres Einkommens behalten und den Rest als Dividende bezahlen. Die Ausschüttung an die Aktionäre kann in bar erfolgen oder, wenn die Gesellschaft einen Dividendenausschüttungsplan hat, kann der Betrag durch die Ausgabe weiterer Aktien oder Aktienrückkauf gezahlt werden. Eine Dividende wird als fester Betrag je Aktie zugeteilt, wobei die Aktionäre im Verhältnis zu ihrer Beteiligung eine Dividende erhalten. Für die Aktiengesellschaft ist die Zahlung von Dividenden kein Aufwand; Vielmehr handelt es sich um die Aufteilung der Nachsteuergewinne bei den Aktionären. Die Gewinnrücklagen werden im Eigenkapitalbereich in der Bilanz der Gesellschaft ausgewiesen - genauso wie das ausgegebene Aktienkapital. Öffentliche Unternehmen zahlen in der Regel Dividenden zu einem festen Zeitplan, können aber jederzeit eine Dividende erklären, die manchmal als Sonderdividende bezeichnet wird, um sie von den festgesetzten Terminkalenzen zu unterscheiden.
