Flämische oder belgische Holländer (Belgisch-Nederlands (hören) oder Vlaams) ist die niederländische Sprache, die in Flandern, dem nördlichen Teil Belgiens, gesprochen wird, sei es Standard (wie in Schulen, Regierung und Medien) oder informelle (wie in Tägliche Rede, "tussentaal"). Es gibt vier niederländische Dialekte in Flandern: Brabantian, Ostflämisch, Westflämisch und Limburgisch. Die beiden letzteren werden manchmal als getrennte Sprachen betrachtet. Linguistisch wird "flämisch" manchmal als Begriff für die Sprache des ehemaligen Landkreises Flandern, besonders Westflämisch, verwendet. Infolge der politischen Emanzipation des niederländischsprachigen Teils Belgiens ist die kombinierte Kultur dieser Region (die aus Westflandern, Ostflandern, Flämisch-Brabant, Antwerpen, Limburg und Brüssel besteht) als Flämisch bekannt "Und so sind manchmal die vier Dialekte oder die gemeinsame Zwischensprache. Trotz des Namens ist der Brabantianer und insbesondere sein Antwerpener Dialekt der dominierende Beitrag zum flämischen Tussentaal. Die Verwendung in der Amtssprache in Flandern ist irreführend: Die einzige Amtssprache in Flandern ist Standard Holländer.
