Teucrium ist eine Gattung der mehrjährigen Pflanzen in der Familie Lamiaceae. Der Name wird geglaubt, um König Teucer von Troy zu verweisen. Mitglieder der Gattung sind allgemein bekannt als deutschland. Diese Arten sind Kräuter, Sträucher oder Sträucher. Sie sind am häufigsten in mediterranen Klimazonen. Ein ungewöhnliches Merkmal dieser Gattung im Vergleich zu anderen Mitgliedern von Lamiaceae ist, dass die Blüten die Oberlippe der Corolla völlig fehlen, obwohl sie auch in anderen Gattungen etwas reduziert ist. Sie werden als Zierpflanzen und eine Pollenquelle geschätzt, und einige Arten haben kulinarischen und / oder medizinischen Wert.
