Baronet

Baronet is a title in the UK, which can be given by the British monarch to British citizens, including on the suggestion of the British Prime Minister or the British Government, and is inherited from the title holder to the following generations, and sometimes by the award of a loan connected is. The Baronets, unlike the barons, do not belong to the peerage, not the actual British aristocracy, but, together with the Knights, form the so-called Gentry, the lower nobility is. The last baronet dignity - and the first since 1965 - was awarded in 1991. Baronet ist ein Titel in Großbritannien, der – unter anderem auf Vorschlag des britischen Premierministers bzw. der britischen Regierung – vom britischen Monarchen an in der Regel britische Bürgerliche verliehen werden kann, vom Titelträger auf die folgenden Generationen vererbt wird und mitunter mit der Verleihung eines Lehens verbunden ist. Die Baronets gehören im Unterschied zu den Barons nicht zur Peerage, und damit nicht zum eigentlichen britischen Hochadel, sondern bilden zusammen mit den Knights die sogenannte Gentry, den niederen Adel, wobei der Rang eines Knight im Unterschied zu dem eines Baronet in der Regel nicht erblich ist. Die bislang letzte Baronetswürde – und erste seit 1965 – wurde im Jahr 1991 verliehen.
