Fritillaria

Fritillaria, German Chess flower, is a genus from the family of the lily plants. Many species of Fritillaria are estimated to be ornamental plants, the best known being the imperial crown. The scientific name goes back to the Latin word fritillus for "dice cups" and refers to the shape of the flowers and to the square pattern.
