The Noumenon is a concept of philosophy, which has recently been particularly popular with the philosophy of Immanuel Kant. Etymologically, the expression comes from the Greek νοούμενον noúmenon "the thought". The etymology of the word ultimately reflects the nous. The Greek word noein is also the basis. The term noumenon is usually used as a contrast to the term phenomenon. Philosophically, he has different meanings. In modern times, he is regularly associated with Kant.
