Idioma cebuano

Cebuano is a language belonging to the Austronesian phylum, within the Malayo-Polynesian western branch and the bisayo group. Spoken in the Philippines by about 37,000,000 people. The name comes from the name of the Philippine island of Cebu. It is given the ISO 639-2 'ceb' three-letter code, but it does not have ISO 639-1 two-letter code. Cebuano is the native language of the inhabitants of Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental and the people of the western province of Leyte and northern Mindanao. It is also spoken in some cities and islands in Samar. Until the 1980s, the Cebuano surpassed Tagalog in terms of speakers. In Bohol it is sometimes called boholano. El cebuano es una lengua perteneciente al filo austronesio, dentro de la rama occidental malayo-polinesia y del grupo bisayo. Hablada en las Filipinas por cerca de 37,000,000 personas. El nombre proviene del nombre de la isla filipina de Cebú. Se le da el código de tres letras ISO 639-2 'ceb', pero no tiene código de dos letras ISO 639-1. El cebuano es la lengua nativa de los habitantes de Cebú, de Bohol, de Negros Oriental y de la gente de la provincia occidental de Leyte y Mindanao norteño. También se habla en algunas ciudades e islas en Samar. Hasta los años 1980, el cebuano sobrepasaba al tagalo en términos de hablantes. En Bohol a veces se llama boholano.
