Yuppie

Yuppie

Yuppie is a term of American English to refer to a member of the upper middle class between 20 and 43 years of age. It began to be used in the early 1980s and came into disuse in much of American popular culture at the end of that decade, due in part to the Black Monday crisis and the consecutive recession of the early 1990s. However, it has continued to be used in the 21st century, for example in publications such as National Review, The Weekly Standard and Details.
