Most of them are found in the soil, and they include some of the main actors in soil life, playing an important role in the decomposition of organic matter, such as cellulose and chitin. It is the grouping of the bacteria in the form of "tree" which uses its cysts, here endospores, in order to resist an unfavorable nutritive medium. The group of actinomycetes and Nocardia has often been presented as straddling between bacteria and fungi.
