Ford Motor Company - an American automotive company founded on June 16, 1903 by Henry Ford in Detroit. The company had its own forests, mines, steelworks, water transport, air and rail. At some time, the Dearborn plant employed about 100,000 people. people. At present, it is a big concern of the automotive industry producing cars, trucks, buses, agricultural vehicles and machinery, IT equipment and other products. Ford Motor Company – amerykański koncern motoryzacyjny założony 16 czerwca 1903 roku przez Henry'ego Forda w Detroit. Firma dysponowała własnymi lasami, kopalniami, hutami, transportem wodnym, lotniczym i kolejowym. W pewnym okresie fabryka w Dearborn zatrudniała około 100 tys. osób. Obecnie jest to duży koncern branży motoryzacyjnej produkujący samochody osobowe, ciężarowe, autobusy, pojazdy i maszyny rolnicze, sprzęt informatyczny i inne wyroby. Koncern zatrudnia około 246 tys. pracowników. W USA produkowane są luksusowe modele Forda, sprzedawane pod marką Lincoln. Ford zakupił także niewielkie udziały w markach Mazda i Aston Martin. W 1989 roku koncern został posiadaczem marki Jaguar, a od 2000 roku Land Rovera. Obydwie zostały sprzedane Tata Motors w 2008 roku. Własnością Forda od 1999 r. było Volvo, które zostało sprzedane w 2010 roku firmie Zhejiang Geely Holding Group. W 2011 roku Ford zaprzestał produkcji samochodów spod nazwy Mercury, które funkcjonowało od 1938 roku. Ford jest drugim co do wielkości producentem samochodów w USA i piątym pod względem wielkości na świecie.
