Ultimatum - in international law the demand of one state for the fulfillment of certain conditions at a certain time under the threat of war. The ultimatum is usually the case when ordinary diplomatic pressure approaches. The party to whom the ultimatum has been exiled often surpasses his insistence, though not always. Przykład pozytywnego działania ultimatum to wysunięte 17 marca 1938 roku przez Polskę wobec Litwy żądanie nawiązania normalnych stosunków dyplomatycznych - ultimatum przyjęto 19 marca.
