Ataxia or dystaxia is a neurological disorder characterized by a lack of coordination of voluntary muscular movements and the balance of an animal. It is usually associated with a degeneration or blockage of specific areas of the brain and cerebellum. Ataxia ou distaxia é um transtorno neurológico caracterizado pela falta de coordenação de movimentos musculares voluntários e o equilíbrio de um animal. É normalmente associada a uma degeneração ou bloqueio de áreas específicas do cérebro e cerebelo.
