WHAT DOES SOMESTESIA MEAN IN PORTUGUESE?

Somesthesia

In the seventeenth century, John Locke proposed the theory of Tabula Rasa, which determined the absence of any knowledge until birth and that learning would come from sensory experiences. If we imagine a person born without any form of sensory perception, it is clear that it is only possible to learn something if the person has sensory experiences. In general, different types of sensibility are collected in the somesthetic system. Somesthesia is the ability of both men and animals to receive information about the different parts of their body. This information may refer to the environment or to the animal's own body and not all of them become aware. Although we are not aware of all the information received by the organism, we are subject to several types of stimuli coming from the medium. Detection of a stimulus itself is called sensation, and the interpretation of the stimulus involving consciousness is called perception. The somesthetic system is divided into an epicritic subsystem and a protopathic subsystem.
