strépede (-zi),s. m. – Vierme de brînză, larva de la Piophila casei. – Megl.strépii. Origine incertă. Pare un der. din lat.trĕpĭdus,cf.treapăd (Tiktin). Este de presupus că pl.strepezi ar fi dus la un sing. analogic *strepeză, de la care, prin regresiune, s-ar putea explica rezultatul din megl. și alb.štrep, considerîndu-se -ză drept suf. Semantic, se explică prin ideea de mîncărime sau de mișcare agitată. – Der. din sl.črŭvĭ „vierme” (Cihac, II, 373), direct sau prin intermediul alb., nu este posibilă. Cf.
