Alma
El alma, en muchas tradiciones religiosas, filosóficas, psicológicas y mitológicas, es la esencia incorpórea y, en muchos conceptos, inmortal de una persona o cosa viviente. De acuerdo con las religiones abrahámicas en la mayoría de sus formas, las almas -o por lo menos las almas inmortales- pertenecen sólo a los seres humanos. En su juicio de defensa, Sócrates incluso resumió sus enseñanzas como nada más que una exhortación para que sus compatriotas atenienses se destaquen primero en asuntos de la psique, ya que todos los bienes corporales dependen de tal excelencia.
