Délégitimisation

Delegitimisation

La délégitimisation est le processus sociopsychologique qui mine ou marginalise une entité en présentant les jugements de valeur comme des faits qui sont interprétés comme dévaluant la légitimité. C'est un mécanisme autodéclarant, dans le but ultime de justifier le préjudice d'un outgroup. Le concept s'applique à un large éventail de contextes sociaux allant des conflits sur les entités politiques aux maladies chroniques. Delegitimisation is the sociopsychological process which undermines or marginalises an entity by presenting value judgments as facts which are construed to devalue legitimacy. It is a self-justifying mechanism, with the ultimate goal of justifying harm of an outgroup. The concept applies to a wide spectrum of social contexts ranging from disputes about political entities to chronic illnesses.
