Frontière
Une frontière est la zone politique et géographique proche ou au-delà d'une frontière. Le terme est venu du français au 15ème siècle, avec la signification de «frontière» - la région d'un pays qui fait face à un autre pays. Le mot «frontière» désigne également une région située au bord d'une zone colonisée, en particulier dans le développement nord-américain. C'est une zone de transition où les explorateurs, les pionniers et les colons arrivaient. En effet, alors que les pionniers se sont installés dans la «zone frontalière», ils ont été modifiés par la rencontre. Une frontière peut également être appelée «front». C'est ce que Frederick Jackson Turner appelle «l'importance de la frontière». Par exemple, Turner fait valoir que, dans les États-Unis en 1893, un changement était que des terres libres illimitées dans cette zone étaient disponibles et offrent ainsi le sentiment psychologique d'une opportunité illimitée. Ceci, à son tour, a eu de nombreuses conséquences telles que l'optimisme, l'orientation future, l'effusion de contraintes en raison de la pénurie de terres et le gaspillage des ressources naturelles.
