Les Mockingbirds sont un groupe d'oiseaux de passerine du Nouveau Monde de la famille Mimidae. Ils sont mieux connus pour l'habitude de certaines espèces d'imiter les chansons d'autres oiseaux et les sons d'insectes et d'amphibiens, souvent à haute voix et en succession rapide. Il existe environ 17 espèces dans trois genres. Ceux-ci ne semblent pas former une lignée monophylétique: Mimus et Nesomimus sont étroitement liés; Leurs parents vivants les plus proches semblent être des thrashers, comme le Sage Thrasher. Melanotis est plus distinct; Il semble représenter une lignée basale très ancienne de Mimidae. Le seul oiseau moqueur couramment trouvé en Amérique du Nord est le Mockingbird du Nord.
