Orphée
Orphée était un musicien, poète et prophète légendaire dans la religion et le mythe grec ancien. Les histoires majeures de lui sont centrées sur sa capacité à charmer tous les êtres vivants et même des pierres avec sa musique, sa tentative de retrouver sa femme, Eurydice, des enfers, et sa mort aux mains de ceux qui ne pouvaient entendre sa musique divine . En tant qu'archétype du chanteur inspiré, Orpheus est l'une des figures les plus importantes dans la réception de la mythologie classique dans la culture occidentale, dépeinte ou mentionnée dans d'innombrables formes d'art et de la culture populaire, y compris la poésie, l'opéra et la peinture. Pour les Grecs, Orphée était fondateur et prophète des mystères dits "Orphiques". Il a été crédité de la composition des Hymnes Orphiques, dont une collection survit. Les sanctuaires contenant des reliques présumées d'Orphée étaient considérés comme des oracles. Certaines sources grecques anciennes notent les origines thraces d'Orphée.
