Chapelle Sixtine
La chapelle Sixtine est une grande et renommée chapelle du palais apostolique, résidence officielle du pape dans la cité du Vatican. A l'origine connue sous le nom de Cappella Magna, la chapelle prend son prénom du pape Sixte IV, qui l'a restauré entre 1477 et 1480. Sous le règne de Sixtus IV, une équipe de peintres de la Renaissance qui comprenait Sandro Botticelli, Pietro Perugino, Pinturicchio, Domenico Ghirlandaio et Cosimo Roselli a créé une série de fresques représentant la vie de Moïse et la vie du Christ, décalées par des portraits pontificaux au-dessus et Trompe l'oeil drapery ci-dessous.
