Les chasses aux sorcières se poursuivent aujourd'hui avec des conséquences tragiques. Depuis le milieu du 20ème siècle, la sorcellerie est devenue la désignation d'une branche du paganisme moderne. Il est surtout pratiqué dans les traditions Wiccan et sorcellerie, dont certains prétendent pratiquer un renouveau de la spiritualité pré-Abrahamique.
