Woolsack
Le Woolsack est le siège du Lord Speaker dans la Chambre des Lords, la Chambre haute du Parlement du Royaume-Uni. Au XIVe siècle, le roi Edouard III ordonna que son seigneur chancelier, en conseil, fasse partie d'une balle de laine, maintenant connue sous le nom de "The Woolsack", afin de symboliser la nature centrale et l'importance considérable du commerce de la laine en Angleterre le moyen Âge. En juillet 2006, la fonction de Lord Speaker a été divisée par celle de Lord Chancellor. Le Woolsack est un grand coussin en laine ou assis recouvert de tissu rouge; Il n'a ni le dos ni les bras, mais au centre du Woolsack il y a un repos.
