Un Zeppelin est un type d'aéronef rigide nommé d'après le comte allemand Ferdinand von Zeppelin qui a été le pionnier du développement du dirigeable rigide au début du 20ème siècle. Les idées de Zeppelin ont été formulées pour la première fois en 1874 et ont été développées en détail en 1893. Elles ont été brevetées en Allemagne en 1895 et aux États-Unis en 1899.
