La République du Kenya est un pays d'Afrique orientale limitrophe de l'Éthiopie au nord, de la Somalie à l'est, de la Tanzanie au sud, de l'Ouganda à l'ouest, du Soudan au nord-ouest et au sud-est de l'océan Indien. Le pays de 580 000 km2 a une population de 41 millions d'habitants, la plus grande étant Nairobi, qui est aussi la capitale. La nouvelle Constitution du Kenya en 2010 est le résultat du référendum. Le Kenya est divisé en 47 régions de gouvernance semi-autonomes. D'ici août 2012, des élections auront lieu, la première en vertu de la nouvelle constitution. Le mont Kenya est la plus haute montagne et devient le nom du pays. Le terme Kenya vient de la langue Kikuyu. Le Kenya est célèbre pour sa zone de safari expansive, belle et attrayante. Parmi eux se trouvent le parc national de Tsavo, le masaï Mara, le parc national de Nakuru et le parc national d'Aberdares. Le lac Victoria est le deuxième plus grand lac d'IA au monde. Le lac appartient à deux pays, à savoir l'Ouganda et la Tanzanie.
