Manomissione
La manomissione è l'atto di un proprietario schiavo che libera i suoi schiavi. Sviluppati approcci diversi, ognuno specifico per il tempo e il luogo del sistema schiavo di una società. Le motivazioni dei proprietari dello schiavo nella manodopera degli schiavi erano complessi e variegati. In primo luogo, la manomissione può presentarsi come un gesto sentimentale e benevolo. Uno scenario tipico era la liberazione nella volontà del padrone di un servo devoto dopo lunghi anni di servizio.
