Pasteurização
Pasteurização ou pasteurização é um processo de aquecimento de alimentos, que geralmente é um líquido, a uma temperatura específica por um período de tempo predefinido e, em seguida, esfriando-o imediatamente após a remoção do calor. É nomeado após o microbiologista Louis Pasteur por seu trabalho em seu processo de pasteurização. Esse processo retarda a deterioração causada pelo crescimento microbiano nos alimentos. Ao contrário da esterilização, a pasteurização não se destina a matar todos os microrganismos nos alimentos.
