Arsen

Arsênico - um elemento químico do grupo nitrito com propriedades metaloides. Ocorre na crosta terrestre em 2,5 ppm. Produz mais de 200 minerais, sendo os mais comuns os arsenopyritos, lelingite, orpiment, realgar. Muitas vezes, também acompanha os depósitos de sulfeto de outros metais, como piritas, calcopirritas, gálio, mistura de zinco. Na natureza, o arsênico também ocorre em um número relativamente grande de compostos de arsênio. Estes incluem, por exemplo, ácido carboxílico e outros ácidos arsênicos, derivados orgânicos de arsênico, análogos de arsênio de biomoléculas, eg arsenobetain ou arsenocholine. As fontes naturais de arsênico na natureza incluem erupções vulcânicas e lixiviação de arsênico a partir de rochas sedimentares e magmáticas. À medida que as fontes antropogênicas são listadas: emissão de by-pass como resultado da mineração e processos metalúrgicos de minérios de metais não ferrosos, combustão de combustíveis fósseis. A produção total de arsênico no mundo é de cerca de 35 mil toneladas, das quais apenas 3% é metal puro. Os maiores produtores são a China e o Chile.

Arsen – pierwiastek chemiczny z grupy azotowców o właściwościach metaloidu. Występuje w skorupie ziemskiej w ilości 2,5 ppm. Tworzy ponad 200 minerałów, z których najbardziej rozpowszechnione są: arsenopiryt, lelingit, orpiment, realgar. Często towarzyszący także złożom siarczkowym innych metali, np. pirytom, chalkopirytom, galenie, blendzie cynkowej. W naturze arsen występuje również w stosunkowo dużej liczbie związków arsenoorganicznych. Są to np. kwas kakodylowy i inne kwasy arsenoorganiczne, organiczne pochodne arsyny, arsenowe analogi biocząsteczek, np. arsenobetaina lub arsenocholina. Do naturalnych źródeł arsenu w przyrodzie zalicza się erupcje wulkanów i ługowanie arsenu ze skał osadowych i magmowych. Jako źródła antropogeniczne wymienia się: uboczną emisję w wyniku procesów wydobycia i hutnictwa rud metali nieżelaznych, spalanie paliw kopalnianych. Łączna produkcja arsenu na świecie wynosi około 35 000 ton, z czego jedynie 3% stanowi czysty metal. Największymi jego producentami są Chiny i Chile.
