Agape, adesea tradus "dragoste necondiționată", este una dintre cuvintele grecești Koine traduse în engleza ca dragoste, una care a devenit deosebit de apropriată în teologia creștină ca fiind dragostea lui Dumnezeu sau a lui Hristos pentru omenire. În Noul Testament se referă la iubirea legată de Dumnezeu față de oameni, precum și la iubirea reciprocă umană față de Dumnezeu; termenul se extinde neapărat la dragostea celuilalt om. Deși cuvântul nu are o conotație religioasă specifică, el a fost folosit de o varietate de surse contemporane și antice, inclusiv autori biblici și autori creștini. Filozofii greci la vremea lui Platon și alți autori vechi au folosit forme ale cuvântului pentru a desemna dragostea unui soț sau familie sau afecțiune pentru o anumită activitate, spre deosebire de filia și eros, o afecțiune de natură sexuală. Thomas Jay Oord a definit agape ca "un răspuns intenționat pentru a promova bunăstarea atunci când răspundeți la ceea ce a generat rău".
