Peninsula Arabică
Peninsula Arabică, cunoscută și sub numele de Arabia, este o peninsulă a Asiei de Vest situată la nord-estul Africii. Zona este o parte importantă a continentului asiatic și joacă un rol geopolitic critic al Orientului Mijlociu și al lumii arabe, datorită resurselor sale uriașe de petrol și gaze naturale. Începând cu 2014, în Peninsula Arabică există aproape 80 de milioane de cetățeni. Peninsula sa format ca urmare a ruperii Mării Roșii între 56 și 23 de milioane de ani în urmă și este mărginită de Marea Roșie spre vest, Golful Persic către nord-est și Oceanul Indian spre sud-est. Înainte de epoca modernă, Peninsula Arabică a fost împărțită în patru regiuni distincte: Hejaz, Najd, Arabia de Sud și Arabia de Est. Hejaz și Najd alcătuiesc majoritatea Arabiei Saudite moderne. Arabia de Sud este constituită din Republica modernă Yemen și din unele părți ale Arabiei Saudite și Oman. Arabia de Est constă din întreaga zonă de coastă din partea arabă a Golfului Persic.
