Confederația Blackfoot sau Niitsitapi este numele colectiv al a trei trupe First Nations în Alberta, Canada și un trib indigen american din Montana, Statele Unite ale Americii. Din punct de vedere istoric, popoarele membre ale Confederației erau vânători nomazi de bizon și pescari de păstrăvi, care se întindea pe zone mari din marile câmpii nordice ale Americii de Vest din America de Nord, în special în regiunea ecologică de primăvară semi-aridă. În prima jumătate a secolului al XVIII-lea, au adoptat cai și arme de foc achiziționate de la comercianții descendenți europeni și de la revânzătorii lor Cree și Assiniboine. Cu aceste instrumente noi, Blackfoot-ul și-a extins teritoriul în detrimentul popoarelor învecinate. Prin folosirea cailor, Blackfoot și alte popoare din Plains au recoltat bizon la o rată mult mai accelerată. Dar, vânatul sistematic de comercializare a bizonilor de către vânătorii europeni-americani a schimbat definitiv paradigma Marilor Câmpii. Au urmat perioadele de foamete și lipsuri pentru Blackfoot. Ei au fost forțați să pună capăt nomadismului și să adopte fermele și fermele, așezându-se în rezervă pe bucăți mici din fostele lor mele mele.
