Burghezie
Burghezia este un cuvânt din limba franceză, folosit în domeniile economiei politice, filozofiei politice, sociologiei și istoriei, care denota inițial stratul bogat al clasei de mijloc care a apărut în ultima parte a Evului Mediu. Utilizarea și aplicarea specifică a cuvântului este din domeniul științelor sociale. În sociologie și în științele politice, substantivul "burghezie" și adjectivul "burghez" sunt termeni care descriu o gamă istorică de clase socio-economice. Ca atare, în lumea occidentală, de la sfârșitul secolului al XVIII-lea, "burghezia" descrie o clasă socială "caracterizată prin proprietatea asupra capitalului și a culturii sale conexe"; prin urmare, termenii personali "burghezi" și "burghezi" identifică din punct de vedere cultural bărbatul sau femeia care este membră a celei mai bogate clase sociale a unei societăți date și viziunea lor materialistă asupra lumii.
