Burgh
Un burgh / bʌrə / a fost o entitate autonomă în Scoția și în nordul Angliei, de obicei un oraș, sau în regiunea scoțiană. Acest tip de diviziune administrativă a existat din secolul al XII-lea, când regele David I a creat primele burghii regale. Situația Burgh a fost în mare parte analogă cu statutul de județ, care se găsește în restul Regatului Unit. În urma reorganizării administrației locale în 1975, titlul de "burghiu regal" rămâne în uz în multe orașe, dar are acum doar o valoare ceremonială.
