Copierea este duplicarea informațiilor sau a unui artefact bazată numai pe o instanță a acelei informații sau a unui artefact și nu pe procesul care a generat-o inițial. Cu forme analoage de informații, copierea este posibilă doar cu un grad de precizie limitat, care depinde de calitatea echipamentului utilizat și de priceperea operatorului.
