În biologia evoluționistă, mimica este o similitudine a unei specii cu alta care protejează una sau ambele. Această similitudine poate fi în aparență, comportament, sunet, miros sau locație. Mimicalele se găsesc în aceleași zone ca modelele lor. Mimicria apare atunci când un grup de organisme, mimicii, evoluează pentru a împărtăși caracteristicile comune percepute cu un alt grup, modelele. Evoluția este determinată de acțiunea selectivă a unui semnal-receptor sau a unui dupe.
