O tablou de bord este un panou de control plasat în fața conducătorului auto, instrumentelor de locuit și comenzilor pentru funcționarea vehiculului. Cuvântul a fost aplicat inițial unei barieră de lemn sau piele fixată în partea din față a unui cărucior sau sanie tras de cai pentru a proteja șoferul de noroi sau de alte resturi "sparte" de copitele cailor.
