Capră
Capra domestică este un subspecii de capre domestice din capra sălbatică din Asia de Sud-Vest și Europa de Est. Capra este un membru al familiei Bovidae și este strâns legată de oi, ambele fiind în subfamilia Caprinae de capră și antilopă. Există peste 300 de rase distincte de capră. Caprele sunt una dintre cele mai vechi specii domesticite și au fost folosite pentru laptele, carnea, părul și pielea lor peste o mare parte a lumii. În 2011, în lume au fost peste 924 de milioane de caprine vii, potrivit Organizației Națiunilor Unite pentru Alimentație și Agricultură. Caprele de sex feminin sunt denumite "nu" sau "bananele", bărbații intacți ca "bucks" sau "billies", iar descendenții lor sunt "copii". Castrați sunt "umedi". Capra de capra de la animale mai tinere se numeste "copil" sau cabrito, iar de la animale mai vechi este pur si simplu cunoscut sub numele de "capra" sau uneori numit chevon, sau in unele zone "oaie".
